There is so much more I'd love to share with you about me - besides my obvious love for popsicles, baseball and pastels. Let's go beyond my resume - which you can get to from here or the 'resume' link in the navigation bar above...
Social media has been my passion ever since I uploaded my first jpg to myspace, wondered if Friendster would ever catch on, stole my brother's college e-mail address so I could get on Facebook while still in high school, and wrote my first blog entry on how the guy I had a crush on in my Algebra class looked at me.
Luckily (for all who have a keyboard), my social media experience has matured (as have I).
Social media is the perfect way to ask questions, seek answers, explore possibilities, create conversations, start movements, and change the world. A recent college graduate, I left Indiana University with a degree, an obsession with social media, a passion for sports, a network of alumni and friends, skills in public relations, marketing, advertising, and sales, some fancy gadgets with apple logos on them, and a desire to help companies, brands, and personalities create and manage an online reputation.
My passion for social media is what led me to create my online brand of 'thatgirlmegan.'
I've learned that the ability to connect online or in person largely has to deal with the 'me too' factor - seeing what we have in common or we can learn from one another.
The second we can say "Oh, I was wondering that too..." or even "I am addicted to watching The League, too!" We feel an instant connection with the blogger or person who shared this seemingly simple personal opinion or fact.
Instantly, we are subconsciously become open to other ideas or advice they suggest - it begins to feel like talking to your best friend, and who doesn't love that?
I've met so many great people doing wonderful things in the community and nationwide simply by typing thoughts or ideas into a search engine. So - consider me your new online best friend! I want your feedback, I want to know what you like/don't like - not just about me, but the content I blog about or updates I tweet or the music I blip or...anything!! Then, regardless of your like or dislike - tell me what YOU like and dislike! The internet and social media are meaningless without interaction, so I'd love for my site to be used as a place for all of us to share. And if you ever need a girl to give a recommendation to, discuss the latest episode of Burn Notice with, chat with about the latest celeb buzz, advise on a new hairstyle, laugh with at Jon Stewart's jokes, or tell about the amazingly good/bad/normal day you've had, you know you who you can go to - that girl. :)
